This tour highlights the Blue Heron Lagoon located at the East end of Belle Isle. This is a quiet, 42 acre, wetland preserve.

This paddle is the closest destination to far, far, away. You will be amazed to see this small paradise in the middle of the Detroit River.  We take a short paddle to Belle Isle directly across from the launch. From there we paddle through a canal that takes us to the East end of the island towards lake Saint Clair. Just around the corner of the East entrance we paddle under a bridge to enter the Blue Heron lagoon. You're encouraged to wander and roam this calm, nature preserve on your own. This is amazing place to drift in a sunset with very little effort involved.  We then paddle down river to watch the peak end of the sunset drop down on the city skyline.

This tour highlights Grayhaven , Detroit's oldest boat clubs, Harbor Island and Klenk Island as we paddle through canal routes used by Bootleggers during the 1920's Prohibition.

Paddling through the canals of Detroit could easily be compared to paddling through a live historical and nature museum. This paddle starts upriver and through the small hidden treasures of Detroit's historical canal neighborhoods.  We then head downriver, passing alongside monster freight ships,  Detroit sail races and Belle Isle.  The paddle ends with a surreal view of Detroit's City Skyline, Belle Isle and the Canadian riverside border.

Tue & Thur 11am-2pm

The Midway paddle crosses through the East end of the Belle Isle canal, up the channel towards Lake St. Clair and then back down the Detroit River.

When summer comes to an end, the river gets quiet. This is ideal time to take advantage of the river without all the boat traffic.  The Midway is an easy get away. It beats the gym. It's a perfect reason to call in sick and it's cheaper than therapy. No worries parents, you will still have plenty of time to unwind before the kids get out of school.

This tour highlights Greyhaven , the Fisher mansion, Detroit's oldest boat clubs and a mind blowing view of the Belle Isle bridge and Detroit's city skyline.

Twilight is our favorite time on the river. This is when the water and current calm down. The sun falls behind the skyline. The riveris lit up by the reflections of the city lights and we are in the middle of the river watching it all take place. Welight up the kayaks and paddle upriver to Greyhaven. This is a perfect, quiet pocket to drift in the twilight and paddle pass the historical Fisher Manson and the ruins of old wells and houses from the 1920's.  After we leave Greyhaven, we catch the tail end of the sunset and watch the city light up as we take our time paddling back to the launch.
